JB McDonald
JB has been writing novels ever since her first
one, Bucky the Bronco and his Missing Horse
Shoe, won critical acclaim. At least in the
McDonald family. It had illustrations. Hey, she
was eight! From that day on she wanted to be a
circus performer. Then a cowgirl. Then an
artist, a bird trainer, a comic book artist, a
vet, a horse trainer, a dog trainer, and finally
she realized she could actually sell all the
things she kept writing down, and decided to
become a novelist.
Some day, she might decide which kinds of novels
she wants to write, but in the meantime she's
trying them all. One thing holds true: she loves
characters--possibly because she comes from a
family of them. It's human behavior and the
dynamics of how people react and relate that
really fascinate her, whether they're reacting
to each other, to situations, or to their own
thoughts.
Nowadays she lives with two dogs and a bird, and
does dog training and dog scootering on the
side. She's pretty sure that someday she'll find
a place to settle down, but in the meantime
she's enjoying moving around. If you're
wondering what the heck dog scootering is, or
would just like to see her other books and what
she's up to now, you can find
her webpage,
or
email her.
