Interview questions.

What is it that makes you sit down and write?
Desperate need of a paycheck so that I can support my bullriding and country music fangirl habits.

What are you attracted to in characters that you write into your stories?
I love real men – flawed, rough, snarly. I’m a huge fan of the type. I also love the boys with a sense of humor, making me laugh as I write is a sure-fire way to have staying power.

What is your favorite foods/ snacks to eat when you are writing?
Popcorn and diet Coke, baybee.

Do you have an activity you do when you are stuck on a story that helps you focus again?
One word – RODEO.

When the sex gets hot in your books do you end up taking cold showers?
Hell, no. Cold showers are uncomfortable. Hot as you can make them.

Does research for your books and characters take you to other places or is it all done at home or on the internet?
Julia Talbot and I have been to the Bahamas (MJ and Sonny), South Carolina (Issac and Knox). This year I’m travelling to Cancun, Vegas, New Orleans, New York, Nashville and London. Look for more books!

Do you have any pets?
I do. I have a pack of dogs ranging from cocker spaniel to pit bull. I’m a dog chick and I have Gomer, Fog, Leadfoot and Rudolph. No alligators.
Yet.

Who are your favorite authors?
Julia Talbot, Flannery O’Connor, Shirley Jackson, Dean Koontz, Willa Okati, Jourdan Lane

When you curl up with a good book what do you like to drink?
Beer. Ice. Cold. Beer.
So your latest work what is your inspiration for that work and when can we expect to see it?
My latest novel is the beginning of a new series called The Radio and the Road – it’s a series about musicians and their lives. The first one is titled, Living in Fast Forward and it’s about a southern fried rock star named Hollis who is heading down a dangerous road of booze and drugs and the physical therapist, Jeremy, who’s fixin’ to turn his whole world upside down. Look for it in June!.
