Dancer and sometimes rentboy Aoi wants to share a special Christmas with his lover, fox-shifter Itsuki. He's not sure if what he has planned will please his kitsune, considering that he's never been good at the whole monogamy game. Aoi hopes everything works out, but can he and Itsuki overcome his past?

Rain pattered on window across from the bed and the tiniest bit of sunlight crept in past the dark clouds and heavy curtains. Aoi buried himself in his warm nest of blankets with a contented purr. It was Christmas morning, which meant that he had the whole day off and sleeping in was on the top of his list of things to do, that and open presents. Oh, presents… he was kind of curious to see what Itsuki got him, but that could wait ‘til later. Sleep was far more tempting then presents, especially when there was another body in bed to keep him toasty. He rolled over to snuggle against his lover…and got a face full of fur. Well, that woke him up. Aoi sat up and shoved the large, dark brown fox that slept next to him in annoyance.

“Damn it, Itsuki, what did I tell you about that fox form of yours and the bed?” Aoi sighed, running his hand through his nearly knee length hair. He would have to be dating a kitsune…a werefox. It wouldn’t be so bad if Itsuki just turned into a normal fox, instead of something the size of a German Shepard. Try sleeping with that sitting on your chest.

Itsuki yawned. “That you didn’t want me to get fur all over your sheets…”

“Yeah, so either get off or shift.”

“Fine, fine.”

There was a puff of bluish smoke that tickled Aoi’s nose. When it cleared, Itsuki sat on the bed looking a whole lot more human. Oh, now that was a fine piece of man. Itsuki was tall and muscular with a handsome and slightly feral face, accented by short sable hair and copper-colored eyes. To top things off, he also kept his fox ears and tail in his human form. Aoi sighed again for an entirely different reason.

“Don’t know why you insist on sleeping in fox form.” Aoi ran his hand over Itsuki’s broad chest. “This one’s so much nicer to wake up next to.”

“I have to sometimes, you hog the blankets.”

“Do not. Besides, last time you slept in that form, you ended up curled up on my chest and you’re too damned heavy for that.”

“I don’t complain about you…”

Aoi brushed a few strands of blue-black hair behind a slender, pointed ear. “I’m just an elf… I don’t leave fur all over the bed or chew on shoes when I’m upset.”

“I don’--you’re teasing me again, aren’t you?” Itsuki cocked his head to one side studying his lover.

“Maybe…” Aoi grinned. “It’s hard not to when you make it so easy.”

“You know what else is easy? Shifting while I’m riding that tight, little ass of yours... maybe I should try that sometime.”

“Hell no! I don’t do animals.”
