Sonny and MJ are back, with all of the fast action and steamy heat of their first book, Racing the Moon!

MJ gets an offer he can’t refuse, one that leads the eco-friendly explosives man to California, with his ridge-runner, Sonny, at his side. They come out of semi-retirement to take out a man they think is an expert in creating weapons for the government.

What they find is Paddy, a pawn in a very dangerous game of cat and mouse, a physicist who thinks his cooked up experiments have no practical application. Paddy’s new friend and bodyguard, Neil, knows better. In fact, Neil knows enough to be very dangerous to MJ and Sonny, which sets of a romp that careens across country and spills into the ocean as Sonny and MJ turn to what they know.

Running as fast as they can.

Paddy and Neil find themselves carried right along, clinging to each other in a world that has suddenly gone crazy. An uneasy partnership springs up between the four men when they realize they just might have a common enemy, and they work together to find out who wants them all dead.

Steam and Sunshine is a headlong adventure, with all of the action readers have come to expect from Sonny and MJ, and all of the need and heat these two sets of lovers can provide!

Review

Mychael Black, co-author of the upcoming The Prince’s Angel, writes: MJ and Sonny are enjoying their semi-retirement, cruising the waters in their boat—loving, baking in the sun, fighting like wolves. You know, the good life. Then MJ gets a new job. It takes some convincing to get Sonny into the action, but he manages it. Everything’s set up, they’re ready to blow a research lab to Kingdom Come, and then discover a vital piece of equipment they need to steal…isn’t there.

They find the scientist who has the equipment, and break into the guy’s house. Then shit hits the fan, especially when the scientist turns out to know MJ…for real.

What the hell are they supposed to do with a scientist and his lover? They sure as hell can’t leave them there. So, it’s off to blow shit up, and MJ and Sonny take off. With two hostages in tow.

Sonny and MJ are back in this explosive (literally!) sequel to Racing the Moon. The growling, volatile love between these two hasn’t diminished in the least. Add to that, a sweet romance between Paddy (Rick) and Neil, and you’ve got one hell of a book.

I really loved the sharp contrast between Sonny and MJ’s relationship, and Paddy and Neil’s relationship—like night and day. But the love is always there, even if it isn’t said often.

Hats off to BA for the perfect, fast-paced sequel!

"Sunshine, how far are we from the Keys?"

"Uh..." The hammock Sonny lay in stopped swinging and one wet finger popped up to test the air - and what the *hell* did that mean, anyway? "Half a day, maybe? Maybe a full day's sail. Why?"

"I got an email." And, hell, the money didn't suck entirely. Not for the chance to steal a hard drive and blow the living shit out of a huge fucking research facility. The challenge rocked - blow up the place without causing mass chaos or leaking anything heavy-duty into the water table, while making it look like a gigantic accident. Too fun. "California. Facility that makes weapons for the military. Three-quarter of a mil plus expenses."

"Huh." One foot hit the deck, so he could tell Sonny was interested, even if that silly scruffy head never came up above the ropes.

"Yeah. We get to the Keys tomorrow. Dock. Be in Santa Barbara in four days. Work out a blueprint, grab a hard drive. Blow the joint. Be back out here before two weeks is up."

"We'd get there sooner, you'd let us fly." Oh. Asshole. He could hear Sonny laughing at him.

He shuddered, shook his head. "No planes. No trains." Besides, Harry knew he didn't fly.

"But it's so much faster, Precious. I mean, I don't get why you think a car is so much better." That did get him a look, Sonny's dark eyes peering over at him.

"I can get out of a car." He just couldn't do it. No closed spaces. None. He stuck his tongue out at Sonny, rolled his eyes. "So, you wanna come with me?"

"Are you kidding? I ain't letting you go by yourself. You'd just get arrested or kidnapped or something." That was a serious thought, he could tell. Sonny actually got up and stretched.

"It's a lot easier for you to rescue my ass if you're close."

"Mm-hmm. A lot easier to fuck it, too." Damn, but Sonny looked good naked in the sun. The man might be lazy, but he worked out like a fiend, kept those muscles cut and heavy.

"We got some time before we hit land, you know." He could start licking at the bottom and just work his way up. He put his pencil down.

"We do." Oh, that prick woke up for him, just like that. Like on command and shit.

Impressive.

The file downloaded and he logged off, clicking the laptop shut and going to find him something much more fun.
