Cory and Nate from A Heat.Seeking.Missile are back. Cory suggests that he and Nate join their local Friends of the Zoo, and they get invited to an exclusive black-tie evening at the zoo. Nate finds Cory in a tux to be irresistible and during the event, they both end up giving in to their own animal instincts.

Cory must have guessed what he was thinking, because he leaned over and kissed Nate again. A slightly open-mouthed kiss that hit Nate’s mouth slightly off center and tasted of the strong black coffee that Cory only drank on weekend mornings. For some odd reason he preferred tea on weekdays. Nate had never asked about the odd custom, but it was just another of Cory’s eccentricities and Nate loved all of them. Just as he loved Cory. He was looking forward to discovering more of these idiosyncrasies as they spent more time together.
“Well, here’s something interesting. Apparently penguins are gay.”
“All penguins?” Cory sounded skeptical but his eyes glinted with amusement.
“No. I mean...” Damn, Nate had sounded like an idiot again. “I mean some penguins have exhibited homosexual behavior, males pairing up even when there are available females. No wonder I like penguins so much.” Nate laughed and Cory joined in. “No, really. Biologists did a study on it. There's this zoo in Germany and they--”
“Want to go to the zoo?”
“What?" The interruption surprised Nate, but the enthusiasm in Cory's voice piqued his interest. "Is that a euphemism for something I’m going to enjoy?” Nate chuckled and the slight tension between them dissipated.
"That depends. What kind of thing comes to mind?" Cory grinned. “No, really, I mean do you want to go to the zoo?”
