It had been a busy December, for both himself and Cain. Between business commitments and friends, parties and work, their days had been very full, their nights devoted to sleeping the sleep of the exhausted. Anytime Denny had off, Cain was busy, and vice-versa. They'd managed to spend some of Christmas day together, sleeping in, exchanging presents and sharing a meal, but they both had deadlines, so even that hadn't been as leisurely as Denny would have liked.
And somehow, someway, Cain had managed, during that one, short month, to grow a little beard.
Now it was New Year's Eve and Denny refused to let Cain begin the year hairy.
Especially as they'd both made sure they had this evening and tomorrow to themselves. No, not to themselves -- to each other. He had plans -- ones that involved water and shaving cream, the razor, the shower and the bed. It was time they got back to basics.
Denny cornered Cain coming out of the laundry room; he could hear the dryer going and he grinned. The dryer didn’t need to be emptied as soon as it had completed its cycle. "Hey, darlin'. It's shaving time."
"Hmm?"
Oh, he loved that wide-eyed, panicked look. It did it for him, bone-deep.
His voice was husky when he replied. "Yep. Spray in a little white and you could play Santa Claus with that fuzz." Denny also happened to know that the face wasn't the only place Cain needed shaving.
He had quite the eventful evening planned. |
