May 19, 1970
After years of negotiations with the Diocourides Society, the United
States officially announced today the acceptance of US citizenship for all vampires residing there. Talks are still ongoing with Prime Minister Edward Heath concerning official status in the UK.
In 1962, the world became aware of the existence of vampires, and the ensuing battles have had a lingering effect on the populace of every country involved in the war. When a faction of vampires broke off from the Romanorum, the main governing body of the Diocourides Society, the faction attempted to take over several international cities. For over two years, the Diocourides Society and the governments involved tried to curb the problem. Through the chaos of dealing with the war, and the knowledge of the existence of vampires, many have fought to achieve equal status for them. Today, they are celebrating their achievement with their first win for the rights of vampires.
An official release has been sent to several prominent US papers detailing vampiric history. Also, reports have been sent to the US Congress including the number of and names of all vampires living there. The vampire formulas were created by Titus Sennius Diocourides in 11 BC. There are six known formulas, enumerated from first to sixth. The creation of new vampires is strictly regulated by the Romanorum. Diocourides has agreed to allow the US to help with the regulation of any new vampires created there.
First formula vampires comprise the main body of the Romanorum and rule by country. The current first formula vampire ruler of the UK is Selena Kerr. Second formulas hold the positions of princes of the cities. Currently, Prince Mael Black governs the body of vampires in London. While their status is not yet official here, there is a great deal of hope that it will change in the near future. Four hundred and eighty known vampires live in the UK, and lobbying on their behalf has been fierce in the UK and throughout Europe, where over two thousand vampires live.
