Rig's been away from home for three weeks, doing volunteer work in
hurricane ravaged areas. He gets off the plane at LAX late at night and all
he wants is to find the car rental desk so he can get home to his Marines.
Lucky for him, Rock and Dick surprise him at the airport and whisk him away
to welcome him home as only they can.

Rig woke up when the stewardess welcomed them to the airport.
He was sore, tired, and the only reason he wasn't stinky was because
American Airlines had let them all clean up in the VIP lounge at DFW.
He'd volunteered for three weeks doing medical care and clean up after the
hurricane. Three weeks of stench and mold and sickness. Three weeks of some
of the poorest, filthiest conditions he'd ever seen.
Sure, he was glad he'd done it, but he was more glad it was over and he was
going to be able to go home. Home. Home. Finally.
He grabbed his duffle and headed out, nodding his thanks to the stewardess.
The airport was quiet -- it was damn late -- but he didn't have to do
baggage check, didn't have to deal with that shit. He just needed to rent a
car one way, get home.
LAX was fucking huge, and he was only halfway to the car rental counters
when he swore he heard his Marines call his name. Rig stopped, frowned,
rubbed his forehead. Shit, he was tired.
"About time you stopped." Now that was definitely his Rocketman. For sure.
Coming up from behind him, Rock and Dick each grabbed an arm and they turned
him around, angling him toward the short-term parking.
"Welcome home, Rabbit." The bluest eyes on earth smiled into his own. |
