Wynn is an ermine shifter running for his life from homophobic coyote
shifters who took exception to a gay shifter in their territory. He makes it
to the safety of a dense tangle of bougainvillea vines where the coyotes
can’t follow and falls into exhausted sleep. When he wakes, he discovers
that the bougainvillea is actually home to a half-dryad named Etireh who
pushes all of Wynn’s arousal buttons without even trying.
Etireh turns out to enjoy some of the same things that Wynn does, namely,
otherworldly gay men with a thing for kink and BDSM who would take pleasure
in games of domination and submission. In Wynn, Etireh finds a partner who
enjoys being submissive to his dominant and is more than willing to push
boundaries and play in ways Etireh barely dared to dream about.

Review
Stephanie Vaughan, author of Tasim's Tale and Dorian's Story, writes: A
charming BDSM romp, Locke’s ermine shifter Wynn is irresistable – by turns
playful, sexy and engaging. The course of his change from luck cursing,
tormented prey animal to purring sexual bottom is skillfully handled.
Etireh takes endless delight in putting his dryad talents to work on his new
lover and vines turn out to be handy things to have at your control. I’m not
sure I’ll ever look at a bougainvillea the same way again, but I'm
definitely hoping this is the first of a series featuring Locke's universe
of Otherwordly creatures.

“Do you have something I can borrow so I
can get back to my clothes and not get arrested for indecent exposure? I’d
shift back, but people aren’t as willing to help out a cute little forest
creature being attacked by coyotes as they would a human. I don’t think the
hotel staff would look too kindly on me showing up buck naked begging for
another room key, either.”
Etireh snorted softly, and his eyes finally left my face to travel down my
body. His eyes lingered a little longer than was strictly polite on my cock,
something that didn’t help in making my erection go away. Etireh looked at
my face again and raised an eyebrow. I could’ve tried to explain away why I
was hard, but my mom also said I was bold as brass and too honest for my own
good. I shrugged and grinned, deciding on honesty for Etireh. If he slugged
me, he slugged me. Wouldn’t be the first time I’d been decked for stating
where my preferences fell.
“You’re a beautiful man, and I get hard for beautiful men. You could look at
it as a compliment.”
Surprise moved through his eyes so quickly I almost missed it. He smiled at
me and my cock twitched in appreciation. Damn, I could easily see myself
with a perma-boner if I was near Etireh for any length of time. I could
totally live with that.
“I think I have something you can borrow. It might not exactly be to your
taste, but you will be covered up.”
I smiled and drew in a breath to thank him when the smell of desire rushed
into my nose. It wasn’t mine -- I knew my scent anywhere, and this was
different. It had to be Etireh. My cock got harder, if that was even
possible, and I leaned in closer to him. His eyes widened a little, and I
heard the leaves around us rustling. I could have sworn I felt petals
brushing over my bare skin in one of the most erotic caresses I’d ever
experienced. I shivered as pleasure crawled up my spine, and Etireh made a
tiny sound of want. No way was this really happening.
For a night that started out so spectacularly craptastic, this was
unbelievable. I’d gone from nearly getting my head bashed in by a bunch of
homophobes, to nearly getting eaten by said homophobes when they’d shifted
into coyotes, to finding a simply gorgeous guy who was as interested in
getting laid by another guy as I was. How awesome was that? At least I was
pretty sure that I now knew what kind of Otherworldly creature Etireh was
judging by the way the plants seemed to be moving around us.
