Donny grabbed himself a beer and wandered through the throngs of people filling the house. There were vampires and werewolves, clowns and princesses. A couple presidents and some firefighters.

Mmm. Firefighters. How come they were always so hot? Even when they were just pretend for Halloween firemen, they managed to rev his engine.

He'd come as a zombie, complete with tattered clothes and make up done to look like his eyes were sunk into his skull and bits of flesh missing from his cheeks, the backs of his hands. It wasn't very sexy, but he loved zombie movies. A lot. So it had been a natural choice when he'd decided, at the last minute, to attend Gilly's invitation to the Halloween party at her new place.

He'd seen all sorts of costumes, but no other zombies. Until one ran right into him, the Jell-O brain the guy was holding squishing right on his shirt.

"Shit! Sorry."

He blinked for a moment and then bit back his laugh. "Braaiiiiins."

"Yesh. I-- my sister's kids made them for me." Bright blue eyes sparkled for him, the guy looking wry and pretty as could be.

"Yeah? Do they taste good?" He couldn't help continuing the zombie/brains line; it just amused the hell out of him.

"God, no. The kids used too much gelatine. They're like rubber balls."

"Too bad -- I prefer my brains spicy." He gave his fellow zombie a wink.

"Yeah? When will I stop telling them I can smell their spicy brains?" The other guy winked back.

He laughed and held out his hand. "Donny the Zombie."

"Perry the uncle. Nice to meet you." He got a bit of a squishy handshake. "Want to go clean up a little?"
