After being estranged for a year, Ben and David are back together and
more in love than ever. Their commitment ceremony is approaching, and
they've taken the chance to extend a business trip to Paris into a
pre-commitment, pre-honeymoon break.
They owe their present happiness to Barbara, who has a problem only they can
solve, and rubies are involved. Ben has plans of his own - but they owe her
too much to turn her down.
Ben and David were introduced in Chris Quinton's Breaking Point.

She perched on the edge of the bed and a wicked smile began to spread
across her face. "I have to say, it is so good to see you two back
together, the way you should be. Does this mean I get an invitation to a
threesome?" she added hopefully. "Before the ceremony, of course."
"Forget it." David shook his head emphatically. "Talk, Babs."
"Okay." She made a moue of disappointment and took a small padded
envelope out of her purse. "I'll give you a little background first,"
she went on. "I have a friend. A very rich friend. A very rich and
generous--"
"We get the picture," David interrupted. "How is your love-life an
emergency?"
"It isn't! As I was saying, I have a friend, and he likes to play
games--"
"Don't we all?" Ben drawled and decided to up the ante. By the gleam in
her eyes, regardless of this friend of hers, the idea of trois-games had
taken root in Barbara's scheming head. "When we aren't being
interrupted." He curled closer to David and wrapped his arms around his
lover from behind, leaned his chin on the man's broad shoulder. He was
rewarded by David's almost silent sigh of pleasure and the darkening of
Barbara's eyes. He tightened his hold. Not that he was at all
possessive, but Ben hadn't forgotten she'd hopped into David's bed
almost as soon as he'd walked out -- ostensibly to be a
friend-with-benefits and provide an energetic dose of TLC. Since then
Ben had reclaimed his man. Correction: since then her plan had tricked
him into reclaiming his man. So yes, they owed her. But the sooner he
put his plan into action, the better. |
