A young man and his shuttle have crash-landed on a wild planet, light-years from home. He’s suffered a head injury and can’t remember his own name. What else could go wrong? Heck, maybe he could be attacked and captured by men who look a lot like cats.
Or maybe he could realize that he is living in a Master/slave society and is now a servant to a planetary leader named Tryl. Depending on how he looks at it, his situation might not be so bad, even if he can't figure out who he is or what he's going to do next. Can the young man Tryl calls Yai figure out who he is and what he wants before danger catches up with both of them?

Review
Kiernan Kelly, author of the In Bear Country books, writes: Once
upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, there lived a race of
humanoid/cat people. In Illian Obsidian's The Cat Toy, we are introduced
to a people who are fierce, dominant, and amazingly sexy, if furry.
Their civilization is advanced, and although they practice slavery, it
is not the form of abuse most commonly known to us. They allow
themselves but one slave, a bond that will last a lifetime. Their slaves
are almost partners, a unique form of D/s, cared for and loved, and
protected.
One such cat man is Tryl, who one day stumbles across a most amusing
creature. Tryl decides the smaller, fairer, almost delicate, the furless
creature, whom he names Yai, will be a perfect slave. Yai has had an
accident, he remembers nothing of his past, but finds it doesn't really
matter as he surrenders himself to Tryl, mind, body, and soul. Marked as
Tryl's slave, he falls in love with his captor, and when Yai's life is
threatened, Tryl realizes he feels the same.
I enjoyed The Cat People, both for the story, the sex, and the unique
melding of feline and human behavior into one people. The exploration of
the D/s lifestyle is cunning, giving readers a glimpse into why people
may choose to be either master or slave, and how the relationship is
both give-and-take, with both parties benefiting, getting what they need
from the other.
I'm also all about the furries, and Tryl is a supreme alpha, claws,
fangs, dominant behavior, and all. He is forceful without being
arrogant, commanding without being offensive, the tenderness he shows
Yai is very sweet, and the sex is deliciously hot!

The naked creature in Tryl's arms shook and Tryl could smell his fear, his panic. Those midnight blue eyes fixed on Tryl, knowing there was no escape, desperate.
Tryl reached down, pulling up thick furs and wrapping the slight body in them. “Don’t worry now,” he purred, stroking the long, slick hair. “You’re safe here with me.”
He continued to purr, the deep rumbling warming him, warming the slave, calming him. As he purred, he stroked the frightened creature, soothing him, lulling him. His own body, his own sex had grown painfully hard as he looked upon this creature of light beauty. He would take much pleasure in this soft, almost hairless body. Much pleasure.
First, the slave would need care, training. He would learn his place, which was wherever Tryl wanted it to be -- within feet of him all the time. He would learn that he belonged, body and soul to his master. But holding him close, stroking and calming him, Tryl wanted more than pleasure. He wanted much more. He didn’t know how much he could get from this lithe beauty, but he would take every bit he could and coax ever more from him. It wouldn’t be easy, no, but he would force the bond.
The slave would get food, drink, warmth, punishment, all from Tryl. He'd wear Tryl's mark. His collar. He would learn, starting now.
