Roth is a reporter and a vampire. Someone has been murdering young gay
men in his city, and Roth is surprised when policeman Martin Wheeler
asks him to help catch the killer. As the two of them begin an
undercover sting operation, Roth playing bait, they recognize their
mutual attraction, which quickly develops into affection. A killer makes
a move, leaving another young man dead, but there’s something different
about this murder.
Will Roth and Martin be able to catch the killer before someone else is
killed, possibly even Roth himself, or is their newly blooming love
doomed?

The sun's rim was edging up in the eastern sky as Martin parked the Mazda
in front of the house. Roth unlocked the front door and hurried inside
before harmful rays of sunlight could touch his sensitive vampire skin.
Entering behind him, Martin closed the door, took Roth's face in his hands
and inspected him.
"I'm fine," Roth assured him. "Unless I get direct sunlight, I seldom suffer
more than a couple of first degree burns."
Martin caressed his cheek. "Completely unmarred," he commented idly.
"Lovely, as always."
"Right back atcha, you gorgeous hunk of man, you," Roth said softly. He
reached up to comb his fingers through the blond hair. "Please tell me you
don't have to rush off to do police stuff."
"Not for a few hours," Martin said. "What do you have in mind?"
"Some serious cuddling," Roth answered, stepping closer for a hug. "If
you'll stay."
"I think we can work something out," Martin quipped. His lips grazed
unhurriedly across Roth's forehead and down his nose. "I've never been to
bed with a vampire before, so you'll have to walk me through."
"Not much walking involved," Roth said, backing out of the circle of
Martin's arms. Taking him by the hand, Roth headed for the dark bedroom.
"Just this short distance from the living room, through the hallway and into
the boudoir, and the walking part is done. I need you to help me take off
this damned vest. After that, all you've got to do is get undressed and lie
down. I'll do the rest."
